Today we are glad to welcome a new group of students from Belgium, Austria, and Italy. In a week some more students from Estonia will join us. Moreover, we have five students from Belgium, so we are sure, these students will find much in common :) Some of our guests are going to take part in the 2 week Russian courses, others in the 4 week course.

Visa, Registration and Medical Insurance

Please note each student is responsible for preparing documents for visa and obtaining visa. To apply for visa to enter the Russian Federation you need to get the invitation letter from our Russian language school Enjoy Russian.

To get Invitation letter you should:

-        Apply for the Russian language course 2 months before the program starts
-        Sign the contract which you get from the coordinator
-        Send the copy of your passport
-        Contact the nearest Russian Embassy to your location to receive the needed visa application form(s). Some application forms can be downloaded from the Internet. Check the Embassy's websites for availability. Follow the Embassy's instructions carefully while preparing your application. Your invitation letter must be included along with the visa application and any other documents required by the Russian Embassy in your region when you submit them to the Embassy.
-        Transfer the registration fee to our euro account
Please note!
The registration fee is 50 euros if you transfer the money 2 months before the program starts. It includes all pre-arrival information, the invitation letter and ordinary post service.
The registration fee is 100 euros if you transfer the money less than 2 months before the program starts. It includes all pre-arrival information, the invitation letter and express post service.

We provide our students with the invitation for the humanitarian visa:
Invitation is required for obtaining the humanitarian visa (the maximum stay in Russia is 3 months). It takes about 2 months to get this kind of invitation. The migration-visa-office in Petrozavodsk makes the invitation during a month. Then the original invitation letter is sent to you by post.
If you apply for the program 2 months before the program starts we use ordinary post - it can take 2-3 weeks.
If you apply for the program less than 2 months before the program starts we use express post - it takes 3-5 days.

It takes up to 2 weeks to get the visa at the Russian Embassy in your country. As a rule you will have to provide the following documents:
1. Completed application form (you can get the form at the consulate or Internet)
2. The copy of your passport (sent by email or fax);
3. Original invitation letter from the host organization;
4. Medical insurance.
We recommend you to contact the Russian Embassy and ask them if you need to provide more documents (sometimes the rules are changed; sometimes they are changed too often :-)

Migration card
You need the migration card for the registration. Please do not forget to ask the custom staff at the border to give you the migration card. Otherwise it will be impossible to register you here.

Information about registration in Petrozavodsk:
According to the Russian legislation all foreign citizens should be registered within 3 working days since entering Russia. We help all our guests in it.
For the registration you need to give to the Coordinator on the first day of your program the following documents and fees:
1) Passport (incl. visa)
2) Migration card (you will get it on the border)
3) 2 rubles per day of your staying in Russia
4) In case you got your visa by the invitation of our organization (ÊÐÎÌÎÎ "Öåíòð "Èíèöèàòèâà") the registration in Petrozavodsk is free, in other case it is 200 rubles

Information about the medical insurance.
Every foreign citizen who comes to Petrozavodsk is to be insured for the whole period of the stay in Russia by our organization. This doesn’t depend on whether a person has already had the insurance made for the visa at home or not. The medical insurance we provide a student with covers all kinds of accidents including urgent transportation to a medical institution in the case of a disease and repatriation of remains in the case of death. The approximate costof the insurance is 5 euros per month. Students should pay the medical insurance within three days since the program starts.
