Michael Hadziselimovic, Switzerland: “Study program so far: very good! Accommodation also very good, clean and the family is very friendly and helpful. I didn’t expect to take part in any of cultural programs, because I like to do my own excursions, but I think you offer a very nice variety of excursions to choose from.” Luzia Böni, Switzerland: “It’s great, that we had a mixed program (films, texts, plays, talks…). At home I had a very comfortable room and bed. I felt free and could do what I wanted to, I liked that. Everything in the cultural program was optional. It’s really good.”
Naomi Richner, Switzerland: “The family was perfect, I felt very welcome! They really let me into their life and that was the most important to me. I only visited the regional museum and the banya, that was both very nice. I also really liked the National food party!! Though I didn’t have so much to do with the volunteers, I know that they helped many others a lot.”
Olivier Christe, Switzerland: “Teachers and teaching material are all right, but I think there should be word-lists to learn for each lessons. The family is also all right , Larisa (host mother) really spoke a lot with me Russian and really tried to speak slowly so I learned a lot. The volunteers, Masha and Ksusha, were spending a lot of time helping us and showing the Russian youth way of life. Speaking about the cultural program, it’s good that we can choose what we’d like to do.”
Thomas Paul, Switzerland: “The classes are good, much talking and the last two weeks with the teacher Ksenia were really creative. The family is very nice all of them, but unfortunately none of them spoke English. The everyday and cultural program is okay. Teachers and volunteers at Enjoy Russian really tried hard to make the stay effective.”
David Aragai, Switzerland: “Intensive course, nice family. Super program: you can choose what you want, but sometimes a bit expensive for us, students.”
Franziska Kissling, Switzerland: “Good for the teacher that we did not only the Russian Grammar, excellent was the training of adverbs and 2 people in the group are great. I had a super time and would recommend everyone to eat in the evening at home, it was very tasty. Thanks to the volunteers for so much time spending with us and showing things! Thanks for the coordinator, Dasha, for the great tolerant doing by extra-wishes, I think, we weren’t an easy group.”
Liliane Wyss, Switzerland: “We had really good teachers at Russian language lessons, especially our 2nd teacher! We had a lot of repetitions, which were really good for me. I had no problems with the family. Though I personally didn’t participate in the cultural program, for those who did it was good. I’ve been to the picnic and it was a fun, even if we’re not used to play different games.”
Franziska Krüger, Switzerland: "The program is ok, I also like the teaching process and the teaching materials. Anna is a very nice and smart teacher. I don’t have any problems with accommodation and I really like the program at Enjoy Russian language school.”
Giada Tardivo, Switzerland: “I find the program very good and interesting, the teachers and teaching materials are very good too.”
Femke Tolnay, Switzerland: “The materials are good, I like our teacher a lot, she’s a very nice woman, but sometimes she could write more words at the blackboard. The schedule is great, is not short and is not too long. Cultural program isn’t boring at all, you have a lot of ideas. The volunteers were excellent, they helped us with the problems and were very friendly! The family and the organization were very good. Petrozavodsk is a city, in which you can explore a lot and speak a lot of Russian!”
Rahmi Dogan, Switzerland: “Studying program is very nice, good book! The accommodation was excellent, I lived just near the school. the excursion to Kizhi island was great, we had a perfect guide! The administration was always helpful and friendly!”
Livia Mattmüller, Switzerland: “I like my teacher. The family is ok, my host mother is very nice, but, unfortunately, we don’t spend much time together, but I’m happy to be here. It was super that the volunteers did everything for us during their exam-time!”
Marco Roos, Switzerland: “I really enjoyed staying in the family, I liked my host mother, Inna, most of all. I was not at many excursions, but the museum was good. Everything was well organized, and I always got help if I needed something.”
Kati Bortöi, Switzerland: “The teaching is ok. I take only museum from the cultural program, so I don’t know about the rest of excursions.”
Matthias Wiesinger, Switzerland: “Everything was all right, nice teachers, good materials, but I think we should be given more individual work. The cultural program is okay. It’s good that we can choose whether we want to participate or not.”
David Koller, Switzerland: “Good books and teaching. The accommodation was excellent! The cultural program is good, but some of the excursions seem to be quite expensive. I also spoke a lot Russian in the street and in my family.”
Marie Tanner, Switzerland: “First 2 weeks were good and second 2 weeks were excellent. I had the best family ever and want to come back to see all of them! Kizhi was very good, Valaam, I think, would be also very good and beautiful, but the weather was against us. I would recommend the program at Enjoy Russian, because it’s the best chance to learn the Russian language more or less quickly.”
Nathalie Rathgeb, Switzerland: “Interesting and good teacher, we speak a lot, that’s very important. The family was very nice, no problems, everything is ok. Cultural activities are good.”
Tatiana Simeunovic, Switzerland: “Everything is excellent, I would recommend Russian language school Enjoy Russian, because it’s very nice here!”
Reto Leibundgut, Switzerland: “A lot of talking, that’s excellent! Learning Russian with our teachers, Anna and Julia, was a big fun. The cultural program is very good, I like it very much! It would be boring without it. Kizhi was excellent it's a must for everybody. We had excellent volunteers, Valentina and Masha were the most helpful, with their help I could practice the Russian language out of school a lot!”
Katherine Spann, England: “The language course of the Russian language school Enjoy Russian was excellent, I really enjoyed the combination of language studies with cultural events. My host family was friendly and relaxed. All the volunteers were wonderfully friendly and helpful, they were willing to help us, just spent time with us and I had made some friends in Petrozavodsk.”
Suvi Kankaanpää, Finland: “We covered widely different kinds of vocabulary and situations where you have to speak during Russian language lessons. With discussing many things we learned new words and ways to express ourselves. My host family was very nice, they did everything to make me enjoy my stay. The flat was small, but my room was big and quite nice. It was very nice to meet Russian volunteers, they were always in a good mood, smiling and laughing and were always very friendly.”
Elizabeth Allott, England: “I am very glad to have gone to Petrozavodsk and taken part in the Enjoy Russian program. Petrozavodsk is an interesting city with lots of culture and history. Experiencing the White Nights was fantastic. My favorite excursion was to the Banya. It was great fun and I really enjoyed experiencing a typical Russian tradition for the first time. I have never been so hot in my entire life!!”
