Applying to the “Enjoy Russian” language school: deadlines and effective time-management
“EnjoyRussian” language school presents 4 good reasons why you should not delay submitting your application and come to Russia
Generally, we receive a lot of questions concerning the appropriate time to apply for our Russian language courses. Thus, we decided to unscramble everything, regarding this issue.
Obviously, we are happy to welcome our students at any time and will exert every effort to help them join us to learn Russian and explore picturesque sceneries of Karelia. Therefore, there is no need to fear the word “deadline”, we do not have it. However, if you have the intention to participate in one of our programs, it is better to apply as soon as possible, and here are the reasons why.
1. Unexpected bureaucratic difficulties would not affect your journey to Russia
In our FAQs we have a detailed explanation of the enrollment process in the “EnjoyRussian” language school. Of course, we effectively guide all our students through every stage of it. Nevertheless, there are still going to be circumstances beyond our control.
How to get an Invitation Letter without stress or hurry?
For instance, getting an Invitation Letter from the Migration Service can easily become a long-running and challenging task. Consequently, although we do not establish any strict deadlines for submitting your application, we do have a recommended time period that allows you to get through the enrollment process without any urgency. Due to the agreement between Russia and the EU, students from the EU do not need an Invitation from the Migration Service, an Invitation Letter from our school is sufficient. Therefore, for them it is suitable to apply no later than one month before the beginning of the course. Students from other countries should take into account that it takes 20 days for the Migration Service to issue the Invitation Letter. Thus, for them it would be a forward-looking move to submit the application no later than 2,5 months before the course starts.
What other difficulties may occur and should be taken into consideration?
Moreover, there are plenty of other difficulties that may occur, including slow process of issuing visas in your home country, etc. In these circumstances, it would be wise to check the requirements for visa application process in your country in advance. For example, your passport should be valid at least for 6 months after the last date of your visa validation period. Summing up, getting through all the paperwork can be tricky, so preparing for it beforehand can save you a lot of unnecessary efforts and nerves.
2. Planning your trip to Russia is easier, when you have plenty of options to choose from
Traveling is always exciting, and sometimes unexpected challenges would only spice up your life a little. Nevertheless, the advantages of a carefully organized trip are undeniable. The earlier you start looking for available options, the cheaper everything would be. In addition, it is always easier to find tickets with time, dates, and even seats, suitable for your needs, if you start looking for them in advance.
Speaking about accommodation, we strongly recommend our students stay with a host family, because it is the best way to immerse in Russian culture and practice Russian language. These people are going to be your guides, mentors, advisors, entertainers, neighbors, and even friends. Consequently, it is crucial to conduct a proper research prior to assigning you to the family. Obviously, in any case we would make sure that the host family satisfies all your requirements. Yet, an appropriate preparation significantly increases the chances for your homestay to be perfect.
In case, you prefer to live independently, we can assist you in finding an apartment or book a hotel for you. However, it is going to be much cheaper and more compatible with your requirements, if we start searching for them beforehand.
3. Early preparation would allow you to achieve the perfect balance between studying the Russian language and leisure activities
Surely, our students come to us to study Russian language. They crave knowledge, they want to improve themselves, to know more, to become better at what they learn. In order to achieve these goals, they spent a lot of time in classrooms. However, Russia is too beautiful, mysterious, and intriguing country to visit it without an extensive cultural program. There are so many activities for our students to participate in! Russian banya, horse riding, going to theaters and museums, dancing, fishing, baking Russian pies, exploring forests, talking to Russian volunteers…At first it may seem overwhelming. Thus, it is essential to discuss your cultural program with the student advisor in advance. In this case, you would definitely be able to study effectively and thoroughly examine Russian culture at the same time.
4. It is better to overcome unforeseen circumstances, when you have enough time to develop a contingency plan
There is no need to specify all the unfortunate events that may happen. Undoubtedly, our teachers and student advisors would do everything they can to assist and support you in any circumstances. Nonetheless, no one would deny that having time to stop and think thoroughly instead of improvising can become a key to solve a challenging situation.
