Jagger and Nathan about 90 days of constant Russian practice, extracurricular activities at Enjoy Russian and the teaching techniques
“I’m Nathan and I’ve been studying in Petrozavodsk for 3 months now. I think its a great city. There are lots of opportunities, there’s a great art gallery, there’re museums here, places to go out. For such a small city there’s so much to do and to see here! I think the fact that it’s so close to nature means that you can also relax and enjoy nature as well. When I first came I felt very very nervous, I think my level was only a bit higher than people who start it from scratch. And I think I’ve made so much progress!
People I’ve met here had been very lovely and I’ve had a lot of opportunities to speak Russian. Not many people speak English here so there are many options to speak Russian. Therefore I’ve made more progress here than I would have done in bigger cities and I really enjoyed it, it’s been a really good experience, thank you!”
Jagger: I’ve also been studying here for three months and it has been amazing. The teaching here is very modern, up to date and very interactive, it’s not traditional in a sense that you just sit and do the exersises, you get involved, the class sizes are small which is good and I think you’ve got much better quality of teaching here than in other schools. In Petrozavodsk you never get bored. And if you do get bored St. Petersburg is not far away. The school organizes activities for us, there is a network of volunteers, you easily find friends you can practise Russian with, we live with the host families wich is another opportunity to practise Russian and it’s good because you can see how people live here.
It was interactive, energetic and dynamic!”
