The school is situated in Petrozavodsk, a small picturesque town located at the shores of Onego lake, not far from Saint-Petersburg or Moscow. We have been offering programs of full language immersion since 2004 including intensive lessons, homestay and cultural activities, trips and excursions with locals. Our team teaches Russian for more than 17 years and we are totally aware of all the pains the learners might face. We are sure that the more diverse and interesting your practice is, the faster your progress goes. One of our main principles is to hear the student's wishes and adjust the programs to their goals so that our Russian language classes would be convenient and effective for everybody.

First, we hold the speaking clubs offline here in Petrozavodsk for our foreign students coming from more than 45 countries. The most popular have always been the movie day (when we watched and discussed Soviet cartoons and movies), the game club (playing board games which helps to memorize new words in an easy and fun way), literature day (reading pieces of Russian classics or poetry) and the discussion club, where we talked about Russian culture, for example wedding traditions or superstitions. During the meeting we had tea with cookies, kept friendly conversations, and spent time together in a relaxing but still useful way. In 2020 due to the COVID-19 situation we switched all our programs online to be able to keep our traditions and meet new people despite the travel restrictions. We are sure that even in these conditions, learning can be joyful and motivating, and in the challenging circumstances we found out lots of new ways to make virtual education not only possible, but really efficient.

Wish to spend your free time so that it's fun as well as productive

Russian speaking classes are weekly virtual meetings in a group of maximum 10 participants under the capable guidance of an "Enjoy Russian" teacher. They take once a week and last for 1 hour. Before the club, you get access to a virtual classroom where you receive materials to get ready to discuss (for example, about your favourite traditional food or your travelling experience), necessary vocabulary and Quizlet exercises. The home task won't take you more than 30 minutes a week. During the meeting, you share your opinion with your groupmates, play games and quizzes, complete communicative activities to use new words and phrases in different sentences and strengthen your speaking skills as well as get answers to your questions from your teacher who also gives comments during the conversation, so that you will know firsthand how a native speaker would say in that situation. As a result, you not only learn Russian online but actually feel immersed into the atmosphere in the most natural way possible staying at home.

In comparison with a standard online Russian course, speaking club is a way to look wider at Russian culture and people. We are going to discuss various topics which will be useful for you when you'll travel to Russia in your everyday life.

Compared to individual Russian lessons, weekly meetings with people from all around the globe of different traditions, hobbies, jobs are a real opportunity to make new friends, which will make your Russian speaking lessons more efficient and motivating. You will soon gain that certain feeling of accountability, which will encourages you to keep going and improve step by step.

What's more, the Russian online clubs are a safe practice environment where it's okay to try putting words together, be unsure and make mistakes.There is no pressure to say something or ask something unless you feel that you are ready for it. Very soon you'll know these people very well as you'll discuss news, tell about your likes and dislikes,share your opinions, which will help to overcome your fears and break the language barrier. We offer conversational clubs for 3 groups of combined levels: А1+/А2, А2+/B1, B1+/B2.

A1+/A2 (elementary/basic) means that you've had around 200 hours of Russian. It means that you are able to give personal information, talk about jobs and salary, say the time and describe your day, your interests and hobbies, know basic vocabulary for travelling (ordering food, buying tickets, shopping, etc.).A2+/B1 (basic/1st certificate): you mostly understand everything you read or when you're talked to, but find it hard to express yourself while speaking to a native. You can travel using your language skills in most situations and have a good grammar basis but need more advanced vocabulary to sound more natural and more practice to find the right prepositions, case or the verb of movement easier. B1+/B2 (1st, 2nd certificate): you feel confident in your language skills and can keep conversation on most topics, even politics, environment or poetry. What you need is to learn natural conversational words and phrases a native speaker would use in certain situations. If you're interested in Russian for beginners, which means to learn from the alphabet, or for A0+/A1 level (to be able to keep basic conversation with easy words and use simple grammar constructions to explain yourself), welcome to take our private or group Russian language lessons.
